You might have heard the term “speech pathologist” before – but what exactly do we do, and how can we help your child?
At More to Say Speech Pathology, we support children in finding their voice, building confidence, and connecting with others – whether they’re learning to say their first words, building sentences, or using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
Who Do Speech Pathologists Work With?
Speech pathologists (also called speech therapists) work with people of all ages, but here at More to Say, Brooke supports babies, toddlers, and children – especially those who are:
- Late to start talking
- Hard to understand
- Not yet using words to express themselves
- Struggling with reading, spelling or writing
- Autistic or neurodivergent
- Using alternative ways to communicate (like visuals or devices)
Every child is unique, and so is the way they communicate!
What Areas Do We Support?
We don’t just work on speech. Here are some of the areas we can support:
Speech Sounds
Helping children say sounds clearly so they can be understood by others.
Language Development
Supporting children to understand and use words, sentences, and stories – both spoken and written.
Literacy Skills
Helping children learn to read, spell and write using evidence-based programs like Sounds-Write.
Social Communication
Supporting children to connect with others in ways that feel natural to them – including play, turn-taking, and friendships.
Fluency
Helping children who repeat sounds, stretch out words, or get stuck when speaking. We provide gentle, family-based support for fluency in a way that builds confidence and reduces pressure.

Alternative Communication (AAC)
Introducing tools like visuals, signs, or speech-generating devices for children who need different ways to communicate. Learn more about AAC here.
How Do We Work?
Brooke takes a neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and family-centred approach. That means:
- She follow your child’s lead
- She uses their interests and strengths
- She collaborates with you every step of the way
We might support your child at home, at preschool or school, or in the community. Every child deserves support that’s tailored to them.
Do I Need a Referral?
No referral is needed! You can contact us directly to book in or ask any questions. We work with NDIS participants (self or plan managed) and can support families privately.
